Booking Terms and Conditions for Truro Christmas Market
1. Booking Confirmation and Payment
- Bookings are confirmed only upon receipt of full payment.
- Cancellations by traders must be communicated as early as possible. Refunds for cancellations are at the discretion of the market organisers and depend on the ability to reallocate the pitch.
2. Market Participation
- All traders must be open and ready to trade during the official event hours as specified in the trader information.
- Traders are responsible for setting up and vacating their cabins within the designated times.
3. Cabin Care and Decorations
- Traders are encouraged to personalise their cabins. Shelving and displays are permitted, including attaching items to the cabin walls using screws or nails.
- All screws, nails, and fixtures must be removed before vacating the cabin.
- Any damage caused to the cabin beyond normal wear and tear may incur additional charges.
4. Waste Management
- Traders must keep their areas clean and tidy at all times.
- General waste should be disposed of in the provided Biffa bins.
- All traders are responsible for taking home grey water for proper disposal.
- Traders must also take home any cardboard for recycling.
5. Accessibility and Additional Facilities
- The cabin step height is approximately 6.5cm. Traders wishing to enhance accessibility may hire or purchase ramps as detailed in the trader information.
- A hot water urn is available at the site office for trader use. Traders must provide their own hand wash facilities if required.
6. Electrics and Equipment
- Each cabin includes 2 x 13-amp sockets, supporting up to 1kW of power.
- Additional power must be pre-arranged with the event organisers.
- All electrical appliances used on-site must be PAT tested. Testing services are available as detailed in the trader information.
- Strictly no heaters are allowed due to safety concerns.
7. Health and Safety Requirements
- Traders must comply with all relevant health and safety regulations, including wearing aprons and displaying food allergy information where applicable.
- Public safety is paramount. The organisers reserve the right to close the market if conditions, such as severe weather, pose risks to traders and visitors.
8. Refunds and Cancellations
- Refunds or partial refunds will not be issued for closures caused by circumstances beyond the control of the organisers, such as severe weather.
- Traders are responsible for ensuring they are available during the market dates as per their booking.
9. Conduct and Compliance
- Traders are expected to maintain a professional and respectful demeanour at all times.
- Compliance with all instructions from marshalls and event staff is required to ensure smooth operations.
10. Liability
- The organisers are not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to traders’ property. Traders are encouraged to secure their belongings appropriately.
11. Amendments to Terms
- The organisers reserve the right to update or amend these terms as necessary. Any changes will be communicated to traders in advance.
